Dental

Domestication of pets and the fact that pets live longer made pets more prone to dental disease. One in three adult pets suffer from periodontal disease (Dental problems). Apart from losing teeth and a foul smelling breath – this poses  serious health risks. Endocarditis (infection in the heart), recurring cystitis (bladder infections) and infections in various organs can result from severe periodontal disease.

Diagnosis & treatment

Our veterinary clinic is staffed with a dedicated team of qualified veterinarians and assistants who are committed to providing exceptional care for your cherished pet. Our top priority is delivering the highest standard of medical and surgical services, and we take great pride in treating each patient as if they were our own. We follow a “Best Practices Policy” that involves conducting thorough medical examinations and diagnostic workups to identify any health issues or diseases, and then utilizing the latest trends and methods available in veterinary science to treat them. Additionally, we operate a “pain-free clinic” where every animal under our care receives the best possible treatment to ensure their health, happiness, and comfort. With 24/7 monitoring and treatment available for sick animals, you can trust that your pet will always receive the best possible care at our clinic.

Diet Clinic
“I am in shape; round is a shape isn’t it?”
An astonishing 40% of dogs/cats that visit vets are overweight. The cause: US! Their pleading eyes melt our hearts, so we feed them human food or other treats.
The good news is weight loss doesn’t require surgery or medication; only patience and a few simple steps. Tasty food, fun exercise and vet guidance can help you get your pet into great shape.
We are associated with various highly qualified veterinary specialists for assistance with patients and / or referral.
Causes of weight gain:

Primary health care
  • The basis for a healthy happy pet is to avoid health risks. This is achieved by preventative heal care, early detection of health problems and timely intervention if problems are detected. The adage “Prevention is better than cure” is the basis for this approach.
  • This involves primary or preventative health care programs such as Puppy socialisation classes, Puppy health Care Programs, Adult health Care Programs, Weight Reduction Clinics, Pain Management Clinics for Arthritic Pets, Geriatric Health Care and Health Check Programs. Other measures like routine laboratory testing and general health checks, such as proposed in human medicine, is essential for disease preventions.
  • Vaccinations, deworming and other parasite control measures as well as appropriate nutrition forms are the cornerstone of preventative medicine.

Tick & Flea Control

Parasite control is essential in a subtropical climate such as we have. Control of tick transmitted diseases such as Tick Fever (Billiary Fever) and Tick Bite Fever (Erlichia), Fleas with resulting itching, mites and other parasites is essential.

The number of tick and flea control products is endless and each of them has unique properties and its place in the market. Many of these products have become household names.

Products range from spot-on applications to edible treats, shampoos and collars. The effect of treatments lasts anything from 4 weeks to 32 weeks.

The range of parasites each product controls is also different. It varies from flea control only to the treatment of several parasites such as ticks, fleas, flies, mites and biting lice. Many products include treatment against internal parasites like roundworms, tapeworms and Spirocerca.

Because each family and their pets have unique needs, we recommend that you enquire telephonically or pay us a visit to discuss a tailor made, effective, non-toxic and safe program to satisfy your needs and to keep your pet healthy.

Vaccination

A sad reality is the loss of pets due to perfectly preventable diseases. Our well structured vaccination and deworming program and electronic reminder system helps owners to vaccinate pets against these preventable diseases.

Microchipping

The disappearance of pets by straying from home is a reality. Microchipping is advised and done in our clinic to help owners to recover their lost pets.
